FUN FACTS about Eli
Eli was once on The Price is Right as a Contestant, she had a chance to win a car, but despite her efforts, was unable to guess its price. So she went home with a set of decorative globes instead. She is also an avid bread-baker and her favorite book is The Brothers K.
Credentials: Eli is a Colorado Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School. Eli is trained in EMDR and is also an approved TBRI (Trust Based Relationship Intervention) provider and trainer.
Background: Eli began her career working with children, adolescents, and families in crisis as a therapeutic crisis intervention specialist focused on supporting families in addressing severe emotional disturbances. Eli then worked in private practice and inpatient settings in Seattle, WA before moving overseas to pratice in Seoul, South Korea. While in Seoul, Eli worked with clients from more than 30 different countries and partnered closely with the adult adoptee community there providing individual and group counseling, as well as facilitating workshops. Eli returned to the US to open her private practice Thrive Therapy, as well as working with Chinese Children Adoption International where she began teaching pre-adoption classes and serving as the therapeutic support on adoptee volunteer trips to China to do work in the orphanages there.
Eli has been connected to the adoption community for a very long time as her mother formerly did home studies and also ran an adoption agency for 10 years. Eli also has two adopted sisters from China, so has seen first hand in her family the struggles and the beauty that can be a part of an adoption experience.
Eli is co-founder and director of PASS center along with Janelle Althen and provides supervision to externs and interns as well as developing and providing workshop training for adoptive parents, adult adoptees, and child and adolescent adoptees.
