Our Therapeutic Focus
Relationships We believe that in order to feel truly fulfilled, we need to feel authentically connected to the people who matter most in our lives. Relationships can be complicated, tiring, and overwhelming at times. There is no greater joy for us, than to see a challenging relationship begin to thrive. Whether you are a couple stuck in a painful cycle of conflict, or a family seeking to understand a child who is struggling with behavioral or emotional issues, we want to join you in finding the path to a more secure and healthy connection.
Attachment and adoption PASS center was originally opened in an attempt to meet the needs of the international adoption community. Janelle and Eli saw a gap in the services needed for families to truly support their adopted child with an attachment focused, trauma-informed lens. The goal was to empower parents to better-understand their adopted children, and strengthen parent's ability to make their child feel safe, deeply understood, and securely connected. Though we originally began this journey focusing on international adoption, we also support families who have adopted through the foster-system and through kinship adoption. All of our therapists have had extensive training in models such as TBRI and Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy that are systemic and attachment-based, designed to support the whole family and not focus solely on the child. We believe that many of adopted children's wounds stem from "attachment compromised" beginnings and that using relationships as a context for therapy produces the deepest healing.
Couples Therapy There is no such thing as an easy relationship. The most fulfilling and connected relationships take work, attention, and commitment to each other. At times the seas feel smooth and sailing together seems like such a gift. But there are other times when storms are brewing, and things are choppy and rough. That's where we come in. Our therapists know personally what it takes to make a secure relationship thrive and have had extensive marriage and family training, as well as training in models such as EFT, PACT, and Attachment Focused Psychotherapy.
Trauma Recovery Life can be painful, and sometimes the awful things that it hands us can stick around and mess with our bodies, relationships, and sense of ourselves. Our therapists are trained to understand the neurobiology of trauma and to use techniques that promote healing physically, emotionally, and relationally. Many of our therapists are trained in EMDR , a specialized approach to trauma recovery.
