FUN FACTS about Emily
Emily is a certified yoga teacher who loves to explore the world, learn new languages, eat and cook delicious food, and stay active.
Credentials: Emily graduated from Azusa Pacific University with a degree in Psychology and went on to earn a Masters in Special Education from Loyola Marymount University. Emily completed more than 500 hours of clinical training through the post-graduate certificate program in marriage and family therapy at Denver Family Institute and is working toward a Licence in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Clinical Background: Emily has worked with children and families in a variety of settings for the past twelve years. She started her career as a middle school special education teacher in Los Angeles and joined Teach For America staff as a teacher coach and mentor. It was through completing her yoga teacher training and committing to a new path of mindfulness on her own journey that Emily decided to explore the field of mental health and wellness. During her two years at Denver Family Institute (DFI), Emily worked with individuals, families, couples, children and teens of all ages and walks of life. Emily is currently in private practice.
Emily’s work with individuals, couples and families is rooted in attachment theory, mindfulness based practices, neurobiology, and trauma informed care. Emily is holistic in her therapeutic approach and integrates different modalities based on her clients’ needs and goals.
