FUN FACTS about Sofia
Sofia is a Chinese-American adoptee who is the middle daughter of three women adopted from China. She was adopted when she was nine months old from Xiamen, Fujian, China in 1995 and has been back twice. In 2002, Sofia and her family went back to China to adopt her younger sister who is now an adult with special needs. In 2008, Sofia went on a birth parent search that was documented by film producer, Dr. Changfu Chang in a documentary called Sofia’s Journey. Sofia enjoys spending time with her husband, friends, and cats. She grew up singing and dancing and continues her passions through her work as a moderndance/fitness instructor and serenading her cats on long car rides. When she is not working, dancing, or spending time with family and friends, she enjoys watching Star Trek (TNG and Voyager are the best) and FRIENDS! |
Credentials: Sofia Kent LCSW is a licensed clinical social worker in Colorado. Sofia obtained her master's degree in social work through the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work and is SAFE certified to complete home studies for families pursuing adoption and fostering. Sofia is also trained in EMDR. She graduated from Goucher College with a BA in Psychology and Women’s Gender and Sexuality Studies. |
